does it matter which TCM you get?
The one in my car is A 024 545 81 32,but ive seen so many different ones online, and i also found one at the junk yard that was A 024 545 83 32 from a 2000 c230, the harness fits perfect just like my cars harness, it puts my car in limp mode,which makes me think it just needs to be programmed.

You can't mix and match TCUs. All models have different hearings and ratios, some have tiptronics and some don't. They all look a like and the wiring fits but the car won't response to them.
