2003 CLK320 Cabriolet
2003 CLK 320 convertible top bangs windshield
Hello, when raising the top on my clk it bangs against the top of the passenger side windshield. It hits pretty hard and has resulted in a tear in the vinyl on the top where it meets the windshield frame. The driver side is fine, seems like it doesn't align properly? Anyone have experience with this issue or know how to repair it?

One or both the tension cables have broken. Replace them and the "banging" will be fixed. As for the tear, depends how bad but those vinyl repair kits do a have decent job on the cheap. Since it's only exposed with the top down, Id go with that for the repair.
