It is not very much fun on the vette, once you go past 170 the steering wheel starts feeling kind of light, I did 175 a few times and it did it every time after 170.

CLK430's have speed limited at 135mph, I believe.

I probably have the 2 time record for this, with my Turbocharged E36 M3, and my Single Turbo Supra, and both caught on videotape.
1994 Single Turbo Supra-600 Wheel Horsepower-208 Mph-Gear Limited, 6th gear on the redline. The most impressive thing is how fast the car accelerated from 70mph to 208mph.
1998 BMW M3 Turbo, 328 Wheel Horsepower, 162mph, 5th gear limited, on the redline.
Clearest shot of the speedo from the video which I can't find anywhere anymore.
Both runs the car would go no faster due to gear limiting.

Here's a comparison of the Motor Trend top speed test, and a little of my photoshop skills, to demonstrate the $39,500 Supra Single Turbo against the $275,000 Lambo. Please keep in mind the Supra ran out of gearing, and was on the absolute raised redline in 6th gear @ 7800rpm. The power was still there. I forgot to change the test average number.

Also, worth noting, the car had Bridgestone Pole Positions, S03, 285 on the rear. The car would light up the rear tires @ 100mph when you stomped it.
Also, the car made 525rwhp on 91 octane fuel. At this power level the car ran 11.7 @127mph in the 1/4 mile.
