2000 Clk430
Hey guys. I just made an offer on my Benz. Tell me if you think it's a good deal. I'm having it shipped from St Louis to Seattle. Anything special I should watch out for. The Benz dealer in St Louis did a pre-purchase inspection & everything came out fine. Do you still think it's necessary for me to fly out to take a look at the car or just have it shipped? Here are the details on the car:
2000 CLK 430 Silver/Ash
12K Miles
K3, Heated Seats & Changer
No Xenon (Is that a big deal??)
Total price = $42,500
Thanks,
Gus

Well based on Kelley Blue Book you may have got a good deal but with today's market most dealers wont even offer trade in value (Book) for your car. Here are two values on your car one with the car booking out with excellent condition and the other with good. Remember that 12k on a 2000 unit adds value but no dealer will give you the mileage add in trade, at least on the West Coast (Both values below have the mileage add in it). I personally know that used cars have taken a severe beating in the last few months but there may be an upswing come Jan or Feb 2002.

I assumed you have the integrated phone correct??

I've checked Edmunds.com & Kbb.com & $42,500 for a 2000 seems pretty good. Hopefully I won't see any hidden flaws. I'm hoping the pre-purchase from the Mercedes dealer catches anything that's wrong.
Thanks for your input.

Your figure is about right..I sold my 00 430 coupe in September for $ 42,500..I had 19,000 miles on the clock and the car was perfect. Enjoy the car..Just make sure you have checked it out and that it was never hit in any way..Broken parts are covered under warranty so I would not focus on that stuff as much as brake & Tire wear and body damage.
