Help installing spark plug boot back on its not clicking in
Was working on spark plugs today, all 16 of them, all was going well. I got all the steps and part recommended here including the spark plug wire puller which helped with removal of the boot.
Next i put all the spark plugs in and torqued then down.
After this i ran into one problem x 13. I could get the first 3 spark plug wire boot to click in on the passenger side and that was it. The rest did not click in. I just cant get the right angle or leverage. I did use dielectric grease to help aid in slipping them on and it didn't help on the remaining 13 spark plug boot.
Anyone have any tips on how to get them to click in?
I read one tip, but it requires the 17mm mercedes tool that i didn't get since i got the spark plug wire puller instead. Then it says to use a rubber mallet as a fulcrum for the 17mm tool to push it back in. Maybe that tip will work with a regular 17mm but not sure , already gave up for today. So close yet so far.
Any tips or advice would be appreciated.
