True dual exhaust
I was going to stick with one canister and run a pipe to the passenger side for the quad tips but decided that since I've gone this far with modifications with my car it just wouldn't be right to not go all the way with true dual exhaust. So the process began this past Friday with a good friend of mine that came over and we brain stormed some ideas at 11 at night. Haha. Here is a pic of the trunk carpet being modified to move the battery up about 10 inches to accommodate for a second tank on the passenger side. I chose this method instead of moving the battery to the spare wheel area because I don't like the idea of running around without a spare tire, so I will be keeping my full size 19X8.5 spare wheel and tire! I will post more pics as the it progresses. Hopefully should be done in the next week or so if time allows.

Battery cables were extended to accommodate the battery relocation 6 inches upward. They were properly soldiered and crimped to correct gauges and the ground cable was upgraded from a 6 gauge to a 2 gauge for enter frame grounding which equals better and smoother idle and performance and much smoother operation of electrically such as windows and stuff. My friend is making me 2 gauge ground cable for the engine bay (under the engine to the frane) as well so I will be changing all the ground cables that ground the engine to the frame to thicker gauge bakes and with proper insulation unlike the ones the factory made which I'm kind of disappointed at.

updated pictures of the progress. had some time yesterday afternoon and did most of the work. all that's left is to clean up the welds with grinder and re-spray the trunk interior for color match and install the battery tray and done. next the true dual exhaust. as you can see in the picture my 19" spare tire fits perfectly in there so no full oem and no deleting anything.

Nice work,
Just need some paint finishing or undercoating. Did you have to cut out the passenger cd compartment? or modify the frame supports under there?

I just viewed the slideshow and it looks very professional and just as strong. My network is incredible slow today.
What exhaust system are you going with?

finished everything after work this evening and fixed a few rust spots by sanding it and then two coats of primer and 4 coats of anti rust flat black enamel on the inside and underneath the car to give it that fresh factory look. battery tray was slightly modified and welded to the raised box that I made and it received two coats of primer and maybe tomorrow after work I will shoot it with four coats of black anti rust enamel to match everything and then off to the exhaust shop this weekend if time allows for the dual race exhaust and titanium tips and under body air diffuser. the battery sticks out of the carpet about 4 inches inside the trunk which I have cut the carpet to allow room and my friend is making a carbon fiber cap to hide the battery under. enjoy. next set of pictures will probably be in about a wee or so.

thank you. no the side pocket that holds the cd changer is still there and untouched. I don't use my cd changer and its removed because I have a car pc setup but I still like to keep that pocket since I keep my Mercedes bag with the manual and spare fuses, as well as the umberella and other stuff.
