Lightbulb CLK55 Engine Cover and Intake on a 430

Is it possible to mount a CLK55 engine conver and intake on a 430? My initial observation says yes since they're the same engine and mounts.

My second question is, do you guys think I'll notice some performance gains by doing this?

Third and most important ---- Is anyone out there selling their CLK55 engine cover and intake?????

I answered your question elsewhere Arnee, but for everyone else...

Yes, it is possible, however the gains are neglible if any. You can modify your stock intake, and I'd be happy to discuss over the phone how, but even then you can only do so much with the factory box.

When I got my ecu remapped they suggested I do the same thing, although my friend at the MB parts counter said it wouldn't fit. Costs under $200, though, so just buy it from MB . I cleared out my stock airbox and put K+Ns in, but who knows how much of a gain I recieved there.

The gains are minimal, but that's pretty much all you can do with the stock airbox. You can try running the hoses out the front of the car to collect more air, but even then you are limited by the factory box. The factory box allows air to travel directly over the engine, heating up as it heads towards the MAF. A proper intake design would require going around the engine in order to reduce heat and increase airflow. We are in the process of designing one for the CLK that will include what I mentioned and more. Until we do, my best recommendation would be to switch to an ITG Foam Air Filter.
