cabriolet issues
I had a whining sound when operating my top. sounded like a motor or low hydraulic fluid. finally bit the bullet, and tore into the rear of the trunk to expose the reservoir for the top. I wont go into detail on how to do that as there are many posts for that part of the process. it was a bit low, maybe down half. so after looking for a leaking cylinder, and not finding one, I decided to fill it up and use the top with put closing up the trunk panels. after about 20-30 ups and downs, I found no issues! lucky me!
but since I didn't want to do all that work again I decided to make access a little easier for the future. I took a 6" hole saw and drilled through the metal cover of the pump, as you can see from the photos the reservoir is clearly visible as is the relay for the top... I could have drilled the hole an inch more inboard, but alas, practice makes perfect. anyway you can also see I cut a piece of tubing to make a big grommet for safety purposes. I will cut the carpet panel when I reassemble everything for easy access in the future...hope this helps someone.
