Strange creaking noise during acceleration

Over the last couple months my car has developed a strange noise that I cannot seem to troubleshoot. It happens only during acceleration and appears to be coming from under the car somewhere between the mid and rear. It's best described as a "creaking" noise. If I do a super easy start it doesn't do it (which I rarely do but under medium to hard acceleration it is there. It is somewhat loud and pronounced. Doesn't seem to be during the shifting at all. Doesn't seem to be RPM or rotational based. At first I thought it was a suspension bushing but I now I am not so sure. I can't do anything to replicate it like going over a bump, hard cornering, etc. Any suggestions???
