Noob question: Shutting doors=Difficult
1) Shutting the door is very difficult
Is it due to the air tight characteristic of the car or is it a door seal issue? Is this normal?
2) The driver's seat is squeaky due to a trim piece surrounding the seatbelt (female side). Is there a quick fix for this?
3) Are there any issues I should be worried about since the car is near the 46k mile mark?
4) When do you guys typically change your timing belt? Is there an interference issue with the valve train so that if the timing belt goes, the engine will bend valves (common on Audi's)?
5) Any other suggestions for a noob?
Oh ya, the previous owner had the AMG badging put on the rear. Is that a no-no in the eyes of true MB enthusiasts since it's not a real AMG tuned car?
Thanks!

I just picked up my 1999 CLK 430 the other day. This is the wife's car, but I will also be driving it a lot. I noticed a couple things.

2.) that has been an issue for older CLKs... i think '01 & '02 CLKs don't have that problem.
3.) its hard to say, if it will break, it will break... there is no predicting it... but I suggest chaning window regulator/motors, A/C blower seems to be a typical problem
4.) I think it is still early for timing belt change
5.) enjoy your new CLK...

then just debadge that...
But with the car being 5yrs old, won't the paint be a little different once the old badging is removed?
Ahhh....Good idea.

If you do notice some fade... then, stick some double sided tape on there and re-mount the badge...
as long as the car was garaged, washed and waxed regularly, there shouldn't be any fade in the paint...

Needforsleep, welcome to the boards and congrats on the 430.
Danny, you always have the answers.
