running rough first start of the day
hi can anyone help me as I have the merc 230 clk kompressor
first start in the morning the car sounds like a tractor and really bumpy after a short drive It often goes but sometimes stays and sounds terrible.
idling can be a slightly rough rev counter slightly elevates.
any help would be appreciated?

My first gut feeling would be your MAF mate. When this is bad or contaminated it can often give these symptons. Start with the MAF then move onto other possibiliities (Igntion, fuel system, other sensors) but do one at a time.
Your car is the same as mine so your MAF should be on the right hand side verticaly positioned next to the fan belt. First thing I would check is for oil contamination. Remove the MAF by underdoing the top metal clip with a screwdriver, then the two push clips and unplug the wire. Inside the MAF if there is any oil then this is not correct. If there is oil then its due to 2 blocked breather nozzles on the engine block behind the fuel rail. However first clean the MAF with spray cleaner gently and put it back on.
If you find your symptons in the morning are gone then you know your cause and then you need to fix the oil issue, but try this first and see then I can give you a DIY on how to fix the oil leak.
