broken sunshade

has anyone had any problems with their sunshade sticking in the up position?

it went up and down a couple of times since it started, now i'm afraid to use it at all...the motor is getting power because i hear a very faint click when i push the switch...help??~!

i think having the sunshade getting stuck in the "up" position is a common problem for all w208 owners. To fix the problem, just have someone hold the switch in the down position, and use some force to push the shade downwards, and it should roll all the way down.

thanks for your post...i tried this one...i reached behind the screen and tried to get the arms to close inward...they just appeared to be frozen. at which point i released my grip on the right arm, which snapped back and broke the endcap off the screen's bar, and even dabbed some grease on the cloth interior pillar. ARGGGH


anyone have to replace this motor assembly, or even try to take it out?

it only seems to get stuck in the fully-up position...i loosened the mounting screws, tried to force it down, and it went up and down a few more times...then got stuck again...
