Do you guys drive with your ESP on or off?

Also - those of you with 1999 CLK 430s do you drive in D all the time or do you actually shift?

thanks.

if you want to do doughuts, you gotta take the ESP off. I drive with it on , unless i want to do a peel out when i take off. You get a better take-off if you actually shift from 2nd up to 4th.

Interesting.....I sometimes, when I'm at the red light and looking to overtake someone, shift it to 1st, step on it, wait for 6000rpm shift to second and so fourth, I'm sure this causes strain on the motor so I really don't do this often. But its still cool that even though I have an automatic, I can still shift as if its also a manual.:p

the delay was the most disappointing thing for me. I wish it was a little more instantaneous!

I use the shifting (tap left / tap right) for that extra juice in overtaking someone in 3rd gear at 80 mph on the slow lane.

ESP always on unless I want to peel out.
I freakin fishtailed in W mode and ESP on yesterday.
sooooooooooooo....
Doughnuts are next, it started raining yesterday.

well I think I should just leave it in D.

D42.... Kahn has a 99 430, which doesn't have the tap left, tap right feature. All he can do is put the shifter "down" to the lower gears and shift "up." By shifting "manually" this way, the car does pick up a bit faster, however the car lags inbetween shifts.

Also if you take a ramp exit too fast or see that there are cars slowing down in front of you, I shift down so as to not use the brake as much.:o I feel that taking a ramp exit too fast and then shifting down to like 3rd, I get better control of the turn.
