Does anyone know of a good place in the Washingtong, DC area that can do installation for? Also if I changed the speakers would that make a difference with the sound? I'm just leary of all this fiber optic stuff that I'm hearing about. I just know that my system could and sound a lot better.

to get the best sound, you should first change the head unit. then, depending on what kind of sound quality you want, i would recommend changing out the factory speakers. Then if you want to add a subwoofer, you would complete the sound. But changing out the head unit, you will notice a difference in sound already.

not too familiar with the DC area, but definitely... go in the route of HU first, then speakers. but before putting in a sub, put in a nice amp first...

I have 2001 CLK-430. I live in No. Virginia. I used Sound Solutions in Chantilly Virginia. They did a nice job. I replaced Head Unit, 4 speakers, Power Amp and SubW.
