EC light on

Noticed my ac wasn't as cold as normal a few weeks ago before I went on vacation, brushed it off as a hot sunny day and the car sitting in the sun.

Left my car home as we took the ML on the family trip to the beach and now that I am back home I notice the EC light in the coupe is on (red) and the ac blows cool and not cold, heat works like normal.

Been reading up on this issue a little as well as the button trick to turn off the EC light.

What are your thoughts on the cause?

Most likely Low Freon.

A lot of threads on this topic. You don't want to do the button "trick". The EC light comes on and shuts off the compressor to save you from damaging it. Recharging freon or fixing a leak you may have will cost much less than replacing your compressor.

Hold the REST button for about 5 seconds. Once the screen changes, scroll to #7.
(To scroll press the auto button)

What is your # on the right side once you get to #7 on the left?

LOW FREON for sure. Should be above 10.

Take it to your shop and have them do a Freon Recharge..

Also they should put Dye in to see if there is a Leak.
