2001 Clk430 issues an questions!
My problems started with this. My tire blew out on my way home from work, stopping by a tire shop to get the tire changed and what do i find? My lower oil pan is leaking oil all over the place. To FURTHER find that the previous owner of my car had bottomed the car out so bad, there is a huge scrape on my front sway bar, and a JB WELDED oil pan! So i went and replaced the oil pan, all was good! Until i got on the highway. My transmission started acting up. Cruising on the streets it would go through all the gears, mind you i have already checked all the fuses and made sure the transmission was in "S" mode. The car downshifts unexpectedly and at highway cruising speeds it does not shift into 5th gear! I was wracking my brain as to what it could be, hoping to everything that my tranny wasnt blown. However it became apparent it was electrical when i put the trans into "W" it shifted normally into 5th and started working. I dont have a CEL besides the occasional "ghost" of P0432 and P0422 main catalysts running under efficiency. I dont know what the issue is and would like some comments or things i should check to solve my issue.

Get in the car, hold the gas petal down all the way until you get the click of the downshift button, keep it held down, insert the key, with the doors closed, turn the ignition to the #2 position, but do not start the car, hold it there for 30 FULL SECONDS (While doing this, don't turn you lights, or stereo, or anything on, or roll the windows down.) Then turn the key to the off position, but don't remove it, let the petal go, and wait 2 full minutes, again, don't touch anything. After 2 FULL MINUTES, remove the key, re-insert it, and drive the vehicle easily through town, then on the freeway for about 20 minutes, letting it shift through the gears quite a few times. See if that helps. You're resetting the "adaptive shifting" of the trans.
