clk430 seats wont slide front or back

Hey guys, I have a 99' clk430 and my seats have stopped sliding back and forth. They didn't have this issue when I first got the car but recently they just stopped working. I read in another thread that it's possibly fuses or worse case scenario, the seat motor which I heard can be a pain in the *** and a bit pricey. Just wanted to get some more input from you guys. Thanks!

I would check the fuses in the trunk first. They are first to blow and could be a sign of a dying seat motor. The fore and aft seat motors can be found on ebay for as little as 60 bucks and up and is not hard to do, just takes a bit of patience. I would also suggest that you check the seat tracks to make sure change was dropped and stuck in the tracks. This will also blow a fuse and cause it to get stuck.

My driver's fore aft motor died and the replacement part cost me $120. The labor charged for the repair wasn't too steep. Instead of outright removal, the tech accessed the motor by removing the seat pan. I think I paid $225 for the fix. A year later, my passenger fore aft motor died. I bought a used motor from a 430 part out on this forum. I'll attempt the repair myself in spring.

CLK 430
Had the same issue with CLK 430, turned out to be rough tracks, just needed some cleaning and they were back to work. If you hear a click when trying to move the seat, check if something is blocking it, sounds silly but you never know.

Alright I'll definitely check the fuses first. My driver's side moves slightly backwards but doesnt move back forward so I'll check the tracks too and if I have to change the motors then so be it. Thanks everyone!
