so lately my trunk on my clk 430 will not shut. I try to close it and it wont secure, it'll keep popping back up and I have to repeatedly slam it 2-4 times before it does decide to shut. Its kind of embarrassing when theres a cute girl behind you witnessing all of it happen also and she laughs about it.

Seriously, it sounds a lot like the issue I had - except mine would not latch at all (you could walk up and with only *slight* resistance and lift the trunklid).

I pulled my latch apart, removed the key cylinder and found a tiny piece of metal (looked like a rivet) had popped off. I have a replacement (used) one on the way I found on Ebay for $55. If you find out that's the problem with yours, be prepared since most of them run $200 because they come with the lock cylinder.
