Potentially faulty convertible hydraulic line installation from factory

We have repeatedly run into customers reporting that their original hydraulic lines for the W208 CLK convertible have failed inside the soft top storage compartment. I suspect that some CLKs had the harness along one of the tonneau cover hinges (storage cover hinges) installed with too much slack, and I'm wondering if this varies from car to car.

Benz916 has recently posted pictures of his failing hydraulic lines, and it is obvious that they have been kinked too much. Here is the original thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class...ic-inside.html

Folks, please see Benz916's pictures below, and let the forum know if your CLK convertible has as much slack in the harness in that particular spot, so that we may be able to come up with a conclusion and potential remedy together.

Benz916's harness with the cover open:

Benz916's harness with the cover partially closed (showing how tightly the harness is already bending before the cover is closed all the way):

Benz916's kinked lines, which need to be replaced:

Thanks in advance!

Mine is covered in snow right now but as soon as it warms up, possibly later this week, I can snap a few pics and let you know.

That does warrant investigation, that is too much slack for the hinge area.

A hydraulic line tie strap or trough support might have broken on that one.

Only other explanation would be a part upgrade during production, possible (I doubt it). Mercedes systems are modular throughout.
