Intermittent wipers?
Greetings all. I love my little red 2000 CLK430 convertible. Up here in Seattle, convertibles are necessary - every moment of sun has to be used!
But it rains occasionally, and when it does, my intermittent wiper only has one speed. Is there supposed to be an automatic speed adjustment, and if so, is there a way to troubleshoot?

One click on the wiper switch puts it into rain sensor mode, which usually doesn't work very well... There isn't an adjustment to set the speed of the wipers in rain sensor mode.. At least not on mine...

I actually found the feature very useful so it's not a gimmick. Was the windshield replaced at any time? The original owner may have bought the cheaper windshield without the rain sensor thereby ruining the feature and only having 1 speed?
