Multicontour seats pump up, then deflate.
So... I have an issue with multicontour seats and was just wondering if there were some standard problem areas where I should look first for leaks. When you start the car, the seats pump up, but probably within a minute the seats are deflated again. It seems a common area for leaks is a broken nipple on the bottom of the multicontour control panel, but I am wondering if there is any other areas that are common problems that I can look into. I figure I'm looking for a slow leak, or a bad check valve. Where is the check valve located for the seats?

Inspect the lines from the PSE pump under the rear seat to each seat,Then the seat control switch...Also use a vacuum pump to check for leaks (In line to each item)

I agree with Mark,
might have a puncture to test with bubble soap.
Driver/passenger seats get a lot of pocket abuse. Try plugging up one seat supply tube at a time for diagnosis clarity

Pump age
As the w208 continues to age the first thing I would test is the pump.
i have been restoring a amg w208 hard top and removed the passenger seat to get some working room.
The headliner is bad.
Found tubing from the control to seat air bags rotten for some reason they became brittle and cracked.
Driver's seat works fine go figure.
If the pump checks out then go to the supply tube
The rest of the plumbing is in the seat itself.
Cheers

If anyone has a schematic to the inside routing of the seats, please let me know. I will do some digging to see what I can turn up. My local guy at Mercedes gave me the overall view from the PSE to the seats. He told me he would look into WIS for me a bit. Luckily, he was a W208 owner before. I'm crossing my fingers since I don't have access to that anymore.

Pipes brittle
I just pulled off my seat back in the CLK55 to look at mine. My lines in the seat back were completely disconnect and brittle. I could see three lines with the back off. There is one coming in from the left and then it hits a tee and splits. One of those is completely loose. I'm going to either have to disassemble the seat or find some schematic for the seats to get my seats going. I would like them to work but not sure how much I want to do with it at the moment.

It's not time for my headlighner install but I intend to repair the tubing or pneumatic pipes for sure.
I have Wis bit doubt how deep is gets.
I photographed the coñections while discovering bad pipes.
I doubt the air bags are bad bit getting it back working good will take some re- engineering.
Kind of a basic repair but oem parts are doubtful.
Good luck, Gator
