TRYING TO GET 19' RIMS. WHAT DO i NEED??
My cars bone stock. I am trying to get 19' rims and lower it at the same time. Is it a bad idea to change the springs without new shocks?? Do I need to buy shocks at the same time???? Will I have problems with rubbing?? What do I need?? What is a spacer people are talking about??? Thanks!!

I am getting 19's some day and when I do they will be 19x8.5 and the tires will be 235x35x19 with a 35-38mm offset. You only need spacers if the offset is not quite right, but a lot of people say that spacers are bad. You should check out the Wheels, Tires, Suspension and Brakes Forum, there is a lot of good info there about all of this stuff.

When you change your springs, it is a good idea to change the shocks too... if you don't, it will cause the shocks to be compressed beyond what it is designed for, and it will give, which means, you'll need new shocks anyways.... so save yourself the headache and get them both at the same time
19s are the best looking wheels on our cars... fronts should be 19x8.5 (8 & 9 is ok), rears should be 19x9.5 (10 is ok too). If you don't want staggered look, then go with the same size fronts. Offsets should be around +35... as long as you get the right offsets, and you don't slam your car beyond 2", you won't have rubbing issues...
Spacers are metal discs you place between the wheel & hub to correct mismatched offsets... people discourage spacers because it makes you use longer bolts, and the longer the bolts, the weaker they are...
hope this helps...

what i mean is, if you lower your car with different sport springs, your shocks will be compressed beyond the point where it would normally sit with the stock suspension... therefore, the shocks are compressed more than usual

I have a 19"/Eibach/Koni setup and I love it. I had the shocks on the softest setting for a while and it was great. A couple weeks ago I stiffened them up a couple of notches and they're still pretty comfortable...

Suspension stuff is pretty straightforward - if he's a good mechanic then he can easily install the parts. You might want to find an alignment shop that specializes in high performance alignments though.

You don't need an alignment when you get new tires unless you did something to mess up your alignment or notice uneven wear patterns on your old tires.
You DO need an alignment whenever you alter suspension components. Your car was aligned with the other components and it's lower stance will require different alignment specs.

My shocks and springs came in today. I am getting it install at my family mechanic for free.(my dads friend). After the installation, can I take my car to big tire companies like, NTB, and Just Tires to get an alignment done???
Thanks.
Thanks.

sorry, wrong link.
those are Volk 18X13's... that is just a test fit before we start cutting the body for the trd kit.
Last time on the dyno it had 435wheel hp and 457 wheel tq. that was on pump gas no spray. however i have a slipping trans and killed turbos so now it hardley runs. Going single, with fuel built trans, should make 550 on low boost (pump gas) 700 on hi boost race gas, 770-800 wheel on race and spray.
