OBDii scan tool for Android or Apple?
Has anyone tried one of these generic code readers?

I guess no one has tried. I'll be the one to spring for the $14 purchase on Amazon. I'll update this when I get my trusty CLK out of winter hibernation. Worst comes to worst I'll use it on my girlfriends Toyota Corolla, seeings as though my other vehicle is pre-OBDii.

I think the Bluetooth OBD coder only works for android phone. Only one works for apple iOS . You can search on the apple store and have to porsche divice from them.

Thanks for the information. I use an android phone so I hope it will work on my 208. I've read some reviews that say some of the apps for android are not suitable for any OS over android 4.0. I'm running android 4.(something) hahaha, I will report my findings. For $14, you really can't go wrong. I've purchased more expensive paperweights before.

I have the $10 Bluetooth OBD2 reader from Ebay or Amazon, etc. It works just fine with Torque app on the Android. I use it all the time to pull OBD2 codes from many cars, including my CLK430.

Good news. I will have a chance to try it out when New Hampshire and Vermont decide to fix some potholes.
