Insurance for mods?
Will insurance cover factory options that you retrofit (COMAND, TV tuners, V60 upgrades) without adding them seperately to your policy?
Do non-factory wheels, bodykits, and other options require additional coverage?
Is addtional coverage worth it?
Anyone?
if you didn't buy added coverage for these items, and they get damaged in an accident, the insurance will still pay for the damaged goods....
i'm sure others can elaborate more on auto insurance coverages...

Comand/Xeon headlites/CD changer/AMG body kit/Phone
Will be covered under the policy since its a OE mercedes part
BUT any NON USA part will NOT be covered since The MB dealer will not be able to replace the Euro item.
On any NON OE Mods
Like Aftermarkit wheels/tire /stereo/etc
You can Have It Insured under (Custom and Special add on Equipment) For Yes MORE money added to the Policy
With Proof of Purchase and Pics
OEM parts (Comand, multifunction steering wheel and instrument cluster) retrofitted into a car which didn't have them as options when the car was new?
I assume if the repair was done by a shop other than a MBZ dealer, if these things needed to be replaced, they could just order the items by part number and no one would know a difference.
Interestingly, my insurance company told me any wheels I put on (aftermarket or not) is covered as part of the car without additional coverage. Guess coverages vary.

what you will have to do is ad it to the policy and the keep all the records and invoices incase something was to happen.
I would check into it if i was you.
