CLK320 Looking for Bulb solution

I understand that the CLK's main light bulbs and the fog bulbs are all the same, H1 I believe (correct me if im wrong).

In the past few years I've been going through aftermarket 'white' bulbs on average of 1 set a month. They keep on burning out, I guess due to electric shortage or something. Even when I buy bulbs that are 55Watts and suppose to produce 85Watt-Like lighting, they still die after a while.

I was wondering what has been the bulb that you guys have had good luck with, or what did you do to fix this problem?

I don't like the yellow-looking stock bulbs of the CLKs, and want to have permanent hyperwhite lights. But if it means changing bulbs once every month or less, then I'm all good with the stocks.

Any comments/opinions is appreciated.

I would get the OEM xenons and change out the city lights to some Polargs or LED's.

Most aftermarket bulbs are made very cheaply so it's normal for them to blow out often. You could always try some Silverstars or PIAA's if you don't want to do the Xenon upgrade, but I would go with Xenon as well. Talk to Steve (MBenzNL) and see if he can find you some euro OEM xenons. I bought mine new from him for about $750. Plus the housings look much better than the halogen ones. His email is s_krabbenborg@hotmail.com

Don't buy those crap from ricer shops or ebay like hiper or whatever lights...

buy some Piaa, Catz, or Philips bulbs... they last much longer... mine lasted about a year on my foglights, and i drive with them on A LOT....

oh, and the mainlights are H7, CLK320 fog lights are H1...

I just put Phillips on mine...

They are not as superwhite as Piaa's or cats but they do get the job done. They also last longer then the stocks..
