Spare Key Stolen Or Lost
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any info regarding Mercedez locks. I had my purse stolen or lost with my drivers license which has my address and everything along with my Mercedez spare key! Does anyone know if I can somehow get the locks or something changed so the spare key won't work? I really need some advice on this. We don't have our own garage so I am a little concerned. Please help :o(

Tell them your key was stolen. This should be covered... if not by Mercedes then your insurance.

Thank you for the response, I called them and they said to call the dealership so they can re key it. Hopefully this would be covered by Mercedez or my insurance. Thanks again.

Insurance? Depends on your insurance/deductible. MB? Depends. If you play golf w/owner of dealership you may be in luck. 
Hopefully this would be covered by Mercedez or my insurance.

Hi Karl, I called the dealer and they said they can block the old key but they would still be able to get into the car if they wanted to, they just would not be able to drive it. They said it would cost about $130 to replace it. I'm wondering if the alarm would go off if they tried to start the car. Anyway, I hope everything works out. This is a real pain!

If you arm your alarm and they use the mechanical key to open your door, the alarm will sound and notify tele-aid, if you have it activated. The next question for your dealer is how much do they charge to rekey the driver door lock and the trunk too.
I don't think anyone here has lost or misplaced their key (knock, knock), so this is an interesting thread.
