Gear box blown up 2 weeks after 2000 euro repair in France !
Was wondering can anyone give me some advice as a week after my car was towed to a garage in France I still haven't had a response from customer services. My CLK 320 with 60000 miles on the clock had a leak whilst in Spain. I paid 600 euros to get it resolved in Alicante. On the drive up to France, it broke down in Bayonne and a new hydraulic electronic box was fitted in the gear box by Mercedes in Bayonne . This took a week and I obviously had to hire a car. 2000 euros lighter and exactly 2 weeks later it broke down again with the same problem in Niort. I have now been told that a new gearbox is needed and quoted 6500 euros. It is not worth spending this and where is the warranty on the 2000 repair already done. Anyone have experience of this? Can I demand money back ? Do they have a duty to repair ? Any assistance helpful. I am being given the run around.

Most are in business to make money but succeed by providing a strong reputable service.
Local authorities in the business sectors might have reporting stats like the BBB (better business bureau).
Sounds like a small leak turned into a large drain on your account.
There are only a few places for the transmission to leak, The Pan is first guess repair while the interface connection was neglected. The added grief to leaking trans is the internal damage caused by low fluid levels.
When you are out of town it might be best to visit a Mercedes authorized dealer.
