Hope this helps,

My car is riding on stocks right now and I've never installed springs because I feel like the ride isn't that great right now and lowering the car would just make it worse. Are shocks either fine, i.e. working, or totally gone, i.e. not working? Or is it they perform less as they get older and a decrease in ride quality becomes more noticeable, i.e. graduall? Thanks for the reply Solihin...

What would be the normal camber angle for a CLK? 1 degree?
I know this alignment shop in Seattle area that is really well known. My friend once had alignment there, if Im not mistaken he could set the angle for his car about a degree or so. He dropped his car lower than mine but he would be able to get about 1.2 or 1.3 degree angle.
The alignment alone is pretty expensive (well, for me it is), about $180.
I dont know if this is safe or not, if you really want to get the most life from your tire, swap the left tire with the right tire when the inner is almost worn out. Cause if you have inner wear problem, the outer should be fine. What do you guys think?

although, a proper alignment would even further extend the life of the tires.

I gave up on this issue long time ago. I have 22,000 miles on my car now, and I am on my 2nd set of Pilot Sports. The front ones are toasted outside (funny because my car is lowered)and due for replacement soon. The rear ones are fine.

CLK 230 Kompressor
My front S03's were toasted on the inside at about 13 000 miles, the back were pretty evenly worn with no areas of extra wear but they weregetting less grippy.
So I got a set of P zero nero and a full alignment. Funny thing is that all 4 tires now wear out on the outside! They have only done 3000 miles and the thread wear indicator is almost showing on the outside.
I took her to another shop and the guy told me that the camber is basically unadjustable, and that negative camber is to be expected in a lowered car. However my toe was completely off; there was excessive toe-out causing the wear to be on the outside. He fixed the toe angles but I wonder if my problems are solved.
I wonder if I should over-inflate to take the pressure off the edge and wear out the centre of the tire.
The P zero nero is not directional but there is a specified inner and outer edge so even if it is rotated to the other side, the wear pattern will be the same.
I ain't so rich that I can afford to fry a grand's worth of rubber in 4 to 6 months!

Did you guys corner hard? Cause, I drive quire hard on cornering, and my tires burnt on the outside.
Heeman, i feel you, the tires are very expensive, especially for 18" or 19" wheels.
Theine: haven't seen you for a long time. If Im not mistaken, you didn't drive your car that much right? How come is has 22,000 miles now? :-)

I've been boating a lot, so that keeps me entertained and off the computer, that's why I haven't been around.
I put 6,000 miles on my car this year, to compensate the 3,000 I did last year, on average since new 6,200 miles per year.
