I've finally gotten around to retracting my rollbars and will link here to a definitive guide for W208 Roll Bar Retraction, so it's easier for others to find whilst searching:

Hi you can manually lower them two man job you can u tube how to remove the rear seats then there are 17mm bolts top right and left take out then can't remember the bottom ones but then lift slightly it is quite heavy then look down the back you need two pri bars to pull out and hold locking teeth out then you need to get a lever bar and lower the headrests say top middle I used wood as well to get them down when you think there down there is one more knotch a bit lower down someone said a packet of chewing gum in each worked as well only trouble is you cannot try headrests and have to manually open the roof I've done pump roof module and now going for the ram solinoids

w208 headrest/rollbar reset
There was no manual reset for my 2002 CLK 320 Cabriolet... the headrest/ rollbar is hydraulic... after they tested all the hydraulic points... they determined my hydraulic block needed to be replaced... the dealer had to order it from Germany and it took over a week to get the part... my insurance covered the repair $1,600 USD and rental car $750 USD since this item is part of the restraint system... hope this helps.

Good thing you were insured. It has probably been mentioned before in this thread that Top Hydraulics rebuilds the valve blocks, and that we offer core exchange: https://www.tophydraulics.com/w208-c...d-service.html

The one thing that this diagram is missing are the two hydraulic pawl valves/actuators that are used during an emergency rollbar deployment.

It works!
THIS ACTUALLY WORKED FOR ME! THANKS KLAUS!
Folks, excuse my ignorance. I don't own a CLK. I have heard from a number of customers that you cannot reset the roll bar manually on some W208s - I believe it's the newer model years. However, isn't there a way to do it hydraulically? It would be utterly ridiculous if this couldn't be done with the pump. What does the owner's manual say? Isn't there a way to do it by holding up the roll bar button for several seconds so that the pump can extend the hydraulic part of the system and let it catch up, such as in many other cars?
