Any feedback on stonegaurd or related front end protection would be appreciated. I just picked up a new CLK55 and am considering doing this. I had a very bad experience with my Porsche involving many, many stone chips in the course of only 35,000 miles.
Also, what sites can I go to to review and/or buy?

Congrats on your new CLK55! I'm pretty sure you'll have a 
driving it!
As for stoneguard i think charlie from the C32life.com has them on his C32 and it looks good. It uses the clear 3M film so it blends nicely with the color of your car.

I haven't used anything on the front of my car except lots of coats of Zaino, and I've got plenty of rock chips. The paint is eco-friendly and therefore crappy, but I've also heard bad things about Stoneguard. Because of the CLK's undulating hood/headlight area in the front, the installer has to cut at least 8 pieces of the 3M material, which doesn't result in the smoothest look. If my memory serves me right, Mr. Vanos had it done to his CLK, and wasn't happy with it.

Stoneguard
The CLK and the W210 hood is one of the hardest to apply the stoneguard. I have it both on my E55 and 993TT. The key is a good installer. I have been very happy in both case. Definitely worthwhile. If the installer have to make slit on the 3M material to fit the CLK/E-class hood to make it fit then he is not a good installer
