Lower the front only?

Lower the front only?
I have an 02 430 coupe with 18" AMG style thin spoke wheels. In the rear, there is about 1.25" clearance between the exterior fender edge and the top of the tire. In the front though, there is about a 3" clearance. I want to make them more even because it looks weird to have so much more space in the front.
What is the best way to lower only the front suspension about 1-1.5"? I want a complete solution that will get this done the 'right' way. Can I adjust the stock suspension somehow or do I need to replace it?

The rear is actually a bit lower now than it was when that picture was taken, I'm not quite sure why (maybe just age).

Nice car !!! I have the same but ash interior ...by the way my clk430 had a perfect evenly drop with stock springs. Now that I have the Kleemanns it has a sorta RAKED look.
I would suggest trying to switch the pring pads first to avoid any camber problems with lowering springs. The car will look better lower but will perform the same unless you lower with springs and in addition some sport dampers.

I think changing the pads would be the best thing right now to go lower without too much work or expense. Where can I buy the smaller pads?
