in my clk320 there is a loud ticking noise that comes and goes at idle around the belt area on the front part of the engine. Does anyone know what could be the problem/possible remedies? thanks in advance.

my underdrive pulleys started doing the same thing on my 430....greased them and the problem was solved, has yet to come back. id say if youre under warranty, just take it in to the dealer and let them handle it. i am not an expert and still dont exactly know what the noise was, but its gone now, so im happy.

as far as isolating the problem to the belt, i just watched the stamp on my belt go around, and realized that the ticking was at the exact same interval as a full revolution of the belt.
