Clk 430 Navigation ???
Which Ant. do you have ? got any pics ?
Are you doing the retrofit yourself or getting somehelp. If you need help, the shop doing this for me should be an expert after finishing my car. Let me know if you need any info, I did my homework on this with help of guys from this board and other. Without them, I wouldn't dream of trying it
Let me know how it works out.
I am considering the same....I lost an opportunity to buy a NAV unit a while back.
I'm particularly interested in how long it takes and what special tools or assistance you required to complete the job...as well as any "gotchas" you encounter.

The hardest thing was to find the speed sensing wire and run it to the NAV unit. I don't know if the C230 retrofit is the same as the CLK, but If you need help, let me know.
the dealer asked me if you want it installed
he said its couple of hrs of work
he was gonna charge me 2080 dollars not 4,000
what i reall wanna how to install the dawm dvd to factory monitor
My local mercedes dealer gave me major grief about comand retrofit.
If he would have just said give me 2 grand and I will do it for you then I probably would have done it on the spot.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
There are NAV systems out there far superior to the Comand NAV system. Benefits of the Comand system? Integration with other car components. Benefits of the aftermarket NAV system? Cool foldout screen, able to watch DVD movies in your car, and the best part of all, live traffic updates, i.e. if you map out a route to a destination and there's an accident or something, it'll remap the route for you to go around the traffic.
But personally I think DVD players are best left for either the headrest (for rear passenger use), or the home. It's a dangerous distraction for a driver....
But yes, I've heard wonderful things about the Alpine units.
Still...steering wheel / display integration is cool cool stuff.
