2001 white CLK55
![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Hi everyone,
I read the board everyday and have a question.
I recently bought a 01 CLK55 and want to get different rims for it this spring/summer. I've already decided on HRE 840's. I will also be lowering the car approx 1.5" in the future. I'd like to go with 19's but I don't want any rubbing issue at all and don't want to do any modifications to the body. For those of you with CLK's would you recommend going with 18's or 19's.

19's of course.........as long as you get the right offset there are no problems. I have 19x8 and 19x9 with 235/35 and 265/35 and I'm lowered with H&R/Bilstein no problems.
PS. Let me know if you are selling those HRE's though.

HRE 840s... wow... nice wheels..
yeah, if you get HREs, they are custom made, so you should have no problem fitting onto your car. also, the right tires will make a difference... i think the Toyo T1-S is the least SQUARE tire around... my Yokos are quite square around the edges, so it rubs a little..
OH, and definitely go with the 19s...
but, that really has to do with your driving habits & local conditions too... if you like in a pot hole rich area with bad roads, 19s might not be the best solution...
