I've heard of people straightening bent rims...
I have no physical evidence of my rims being bent except the slight vibration in the front of the car. They are 18" amg monoblocks. I think they are bent because no matter how many times i get them balanced, the vibration will not cease. Is it expensive to have the wheels straightened and is it possible with chrome wheels?

many bent rims i've seen are hardly noticeable that they were even bent at all. i've had my fair share of bent rims and have gotten them repaired with no problems. that goes to show don't use RacingHarts on a heavy mercedes chasis...imo you will need to re-chrome the rim in most cases after repair.
here's a simple way to check if your rim is bent... when's its being balanced on the wheel balancer spin it slowly and look at the profile of the "lip" or edge of the inner (sometimes outer also) rim from the top view. if you notice any inconsistencies or any uneveness (grammar??) in the way it spins then congratulations you've got a bent rim :P
