Question Extra HID Kits.... What to do???

OK... those who know me, feel I have lots of 'excess stuff' that I don't need... and I guess, I am guilty of that...

This brings me to the topic of the post...

I have a few HID kits sitting around.... should I retrofit or should I just get rid of it and sell them...

I already bought & retrofitted OE Xenon headlights on my car...

Choices for extras:
- Xenon/HID Foglights?
- Xenon/HID Highbeams?
- Xenon/HID Foglights & Highbeams?
- Sell them all and buy a diff mod....

You can be like me and throw a set in your high beams :0) I know you keep telling me it's not that necessary, but once you have it, you'll find reasons to use them. If you have an H7 kit, I'll buy it off you to put in my daily driver if the price is right. :0)

haha... i knew your answer would be the HID Highbeams...

I'm considering the Foglights since I use that more... like most mods, its more for aesthetics then for functionality.....

I have regular D2R/D2S kits... but, an adaptor is all you need for H7 applications... all it is an an attachment ring...

I have the lights I need (and enough for you too), but, its a matter of retrofitting it onto the foglights...

I haven't had much time to myself to mess around with it, but I'll give it a whirl soon... I might even modify my Lorinser fog lights to be projector headlights... there is no fog in Cali, so I'd rather have an extra set of driving lights down ther...

you talking to me? I'll keep the bimmer up until I get the Mercedes. Don't wanna sport pics of a car I don't own yet. Don't be hatin'. Only thing, seriously only thing that's better about a bimmer is the manual tranny's...but I'm over spending so much on a car that keeps breaking down.....until I can afford it for real

Sorry for the hijack

Definately upgrade your fogs, would looks hecka sick with that DTM front you got going on, and if you dont like it, sell it and buy Whelen Police Strobes, who says you can can't have a little fun on the roads? Or take that money and get some ICE installed...

the police strobes would be fun...

i've had ICE in my previous car... and started it on the CLK, but I went back to the OE look for something cleaner... but some good ICE is very tempting...

I'm assuming you mean the high beams because HID's in that location would be blinding, and the answer is yes, I have a HID kit in the high beams. :0)

Nope - I did mean the small inner lights next to the grill.

If they were properly aimed why would they be blinding? I think they would look great with 2 sets of HIDs in the front. no more yellow lights and be great for the dark highways.

Well aside from the fact that the small inner lights can't be aimed, the city light bulb is slightly larger than a thumbnail, and no one makes HID's for a city light. The inner lights also house the high beams, and although it is possible to put HID's in there, aiming them so as not to blind oncoming traffic is essentially impossible due to the fact that the lens for that light is mean for a high beam application and thus doesn't have any way of diffusing the light or creating the right cutoff/pattern. Also, the high beams don't aim independently of the lows.

If you simply want bulbs to match the color of your Xenon low beams, there's a variety of blue tinted bulbs but no one's really been happy with the quality. I have LED city lights that match the color pretty well, but are not as bright as the stock city lights.
