Question just purchase a CLK430 it runs very good and strong
sometimes when I am coming to a stop it makes a clanking sound also sometime when I have to slow down and accelerate quicly it also makes a clanking sound is this normal of a rear drive car or should i have the transmission check, car has 33, 900 mile and it is a 99 thanks for any advice.

 

i have over 80K miles on my 99 430 and I haven't heard any funny noises like you have. Maybe you should bring it in and get it checked out.

 

my 00' CLK430 doesn't have that noise, the transmission is very smooth.
