Rip off, this is why Lorinser is baller.

yes, it offers a great performance mod...

at $520 for the tips... that would mean you can carry $520 less cash with you, so the weight savings will equal performance gains...

nah, Lorinser is way way expensive... same thing for Brabus & Carlsson... thats why they are premier tuners for benzos...

but com'on... a benzo ain't cheap by any means either...

Has anyone seen or owned the Carlsson exhaust posted on their website (it differs from the Carlsson exhaust pic'd earlier)
http://www.carlsson.de/en/tuning/clk...uspuff/01.html
Basically resembles the Eisenman or Brabus, and just like those two, i think it goes well with the clk styling

Lorinser has the LORINSER name. People that buy it can afford it. Just like Louis Vuitton's $1400 purses. Is it better quality than the $300.00 Coach one? I don't think so. It's because the purse has got LV stamped all over the damn thing.

Anyways, since I'm the one that started this thread, I believe I'm gonna go with the Eisenmann exhaust. Anybody have one they want to sell me? My car is coming out of the shop on Tuesday =)

Brabus exhaust picture

Can anyone get me a good picture of the brabus exhaust on a CLK? I really want to see how the slant looks and flows with the car itself. For some reason, there isn't much pictures out there.

Thanks,
Rob

.........interesting. I have a Lorinser exhaust. My car has a Lorinser kit and I did not want to buy an exhaust with yet another name inscribed on it. I actually looked for a performance exhaust without any inscription at all. I went to Butler tire in Atlanta and all the mufflers they had.......remus, Eisenmann etc all had inscriptions on them. I decided to go with the Lorinser and I very much like it. It is definitely more expensive than it should be, but so is everything in aftermarket mercedes modification. Infact so is mercedes itself. I am sure the guy in a nice V6 accord is not any less comfortable than I am in my CLK. All it is is that if you wanna play, you gotta pay........and pay and pay and pay!!! But the Lorinser bumper definitely looks beautiful. Be careful.........if you do not have a Lorinser kit, the bumper is not exactly a custom fit. You will need to trim and cut your bumper to fit. Cosmetically, the result you get depends on the artistry of the person that did the trimming and cutting of your bumper. This explains why you do rarely see Lorionser exhausts in cars without Lorinser kits. And if you get a Lorinser kit, you won't want anything else other than the Lorinser bumper in my opinion.

.............LOL! Dayum, I wish I was really a baller.......I would have bought the bentley GT right now. I love that car.

.........Back to the Lorinser exhaust, while I have received very good info and advise from this forum, I have also been steering into very wrong and expensive paths. So I am very sensitive about folks who post advice and answers to questions based on conjecture and who have ACTUIALLY NOT DONE what they are talking about. This is an open forum so everyone can say what they want, but I think since a fellow forum member can be led astray, I think folks should be careful and not pose as experts on issues they have very little knowledge. So, many of my posts are things that I have actually done and know what works and doesn't. Did not mean to appear arrogant or seem like I'm bragging.

Question Help???

I am getting my customer a new Eisenmann exhaust system, just wonder that which one offers the deepest sound?
- Eisenmann, Supersprint or Remus

You know if you don't put 3 cars w/ same mods together, it's a little bit hard to tell. Thanks for your reply in advance.

(Oh, I am in LA, if the sound is too loud, it gets cops' attention too easily.)

I think for CLKAL, just so we don't see another inflammatory thread, should get the more reputable, expensive makes of exhaust. Eisenmann would be my first choice, followed by Brabus or Remus...though I doubt he can stomach the price tag of a Brabus exhaust. A lorinser exhaust would be out of the question because it would cost him as much as, if not more, all 4 rims he is rolling on right now.

I wouldn't recommend getting a second hand one either, I would feel awfully sorry for the poor soul who sells one to him when he starts another inflammatory thread about how this and that screwed up/went bad blablabla, you catch my drift?

Lorinser exhaust

Ted,

Can you comment more on the Lorinser exhaust in terms of quality, sound, and fitment. You mentioned that you have been steered, at times, in the wrong direction. Perhaps you can elaborate specifically for the Lorinser if you are content with the Lorinser, despite its price tag, in regards to quality, sound, and fitment.

Thanks.
