2002 CLK 430
2002 clk 430 (subwoofer)

looking to install an aftermarket amp and subwoofer to the factory sound system. Nothing major...but after looking at the bose factory amp I noticed that there were no RCA lines. Does anyone know if there are RCA lines on the alpine head unit? If not, has anyone done modifications to the factory wiring harness to get the desired result?

just use a high to low level adaptor off of one pair of speaker wires from the rear 6 1/2" woofers. That is the easiest way.

the other way is to have a company custom install low level outputs off your factory deck, but i think that costs $$$$.

tap it to the power to the factory head unit, so that every time you turn the deck on, the amp turns on.

I know but where is it located? In the front? What color of the wires from the trunk? On the right side of the trunk, there are a bunch of wires.

Thanks.

thanks for the information so far...question/concern: if I tap onto the factory rear subs and use a high to low converter will this cause problems to the bose amp? would I still be able to run the factory rear subs with the converter attached (wouldn't this change the ohm rating)? will the converter have a problem since the bose amp uses a funky ohm rating? Sorry for all the questions, why couldn't they just put a set of rca's on the darn thing.

if your concerned about signal why not tap into the wires before they reach the Bose amp and also tap into the remote power wire for the Bose amp itself. I personally dont know where the Bose amp it but thats where I would do all my wiring IMO
