New 430 cabriolet or used CL500?
Which would you pick?
My new CLK430 is ready for me to collect within the next few weeks from the dealer. However, they have a used CL500 which they will let me have for an additional £6000 ($9000ish).
Specification:
2002 CLK430 cabriolet fully loaded, AMG multipiece III 18inch, COMAND DVD player, two tone designo silver interior obsidian black.
2000 CL500, pre owned, base spec, CD changer, obsidian black, ash interior, 32k miles.
Head says get the CLK, heart says CL………………

Damn.
I was hoping for the replies to be CLK CLK CLK
I'll take it out for a drive and see how I get on.
I've driven a S500 quite a bit, I guess the ride/handling is similar?

My dad owns a CL600...most beautiful ride ever. The interior is just amazing. Man, if you even think about getting that CLK...then your not thinking straight. Who cares if the CL is stock still...big deal. ITS A CL500!!! Listen...if your really concerned with it being stock...spend an additional $3-5g's to put some nice wheels or actually spend a lot less and find that amg package online or through ebay. An additional 10g's is worth a CL500 from a CLK430...anyways...the 430 is changing!

Out Of Control!!
The miles aren't bad though... Remember it's a Mercedes, they last more than 50,000 miles. I would get the CL and purchase the extended warranty. But do they offer the extended warranty where you are Maff?

Thanks Guys!
Now I’m thinking, for an extra £6-7k on top of the used CL500 price I could have a new one – although I really can’t wait any more!
I’ll see what the dealer has to offer tomorrow.
Mach430, it will have a 3 year warrantee, which will be good enough for me.

wow! i'm surprised the vote was so in favor of the CL. i test drove a CL55 last weekend and was disappointed with how isolated the car felt. the interior was gorgeous and the ABC system kept the handling fun yet neutral, but i felt so isolated from the road, totally uninvolving. i would have said get the clk for the fun factor, but perhaps comfort and luxury rank much lower on my list than the majority who responded.
gotta get that lan-evo 7 when it comes out over here...
