question to danny
with a OE staggered setup, you are 225/45 front & 245/40 rear... both these sizes yield an overall diameter of about 24.7 - 24.8"
for a 17x8, the optimal tire width would be a 235, but, there is no tire with a 235 withd that will offer a comparable matchup to a stock setup... you can go with 225/45, but you don't want skinn-minnie tires back there (if its a non-staggered setup)
at 235/40, overall diameter is 24.4"
at 235/45, overall diameter is 25.2"
there are lots of scenarios that will impact my decision on what size, too many to list considering I don't know all the facts about the upgrade...
me personally, i would go for the 235/45 as I would rather have larger tires versus smaller... bigger diameter = faster, plus, the larger profile will give a more comfy ride....
but the question that begs to be asked is, if you upgrading your wheels, why not go 18s or 19s??? 18s are very comfortable if you think 19s might be too harsh of a ride...
the reason is as you know, the OZ Renntech is on sale for 700 a set.
And since i am in NYC, i would not want to go 18 and have the rims bent all the time ...
or do you thin i should just go with the 18 ?
But if i do, i would like to look for a good rim in a resoanble price.
the price on the Brabus setup is pretty good... and yes, there seems to be quite a bit of curbing on the edge...
so whatever the auction ends at, add on shipping & about up to $150 for refinishing all 4 wheels (assuming all having curb rash)... thats if u care about it being perfect
