Question A/C Blower completely shut off

Hi. My 2003 430 CLK air conditioning is not working properly. It was barely blowing out air, even on Max. Not it doesn't blow any air at all, and the EC button is on permanently.

Thanks to your combined brilliance on these forums, I just ran diagnostics.

Yesterday, I did change the air filter, and I pulled the regulator and the blower. I cleaned them, and pulled off the red and blue electrical wire things and cleaned off any rust with some 000 steel wool. The fan turned freely by hand, but that's about all I can tell you about it.

I am very new at working on my car, and sometimes I don't know the correct words. Can anyone help a girl out? Thanks!

The blower regulator is a known problem, replace it. Your refrigerant charge is low as well.

As you've gone to the trouble of removing the fan, check the brushes as these will often just need replacing. Also give the regulator a clean too.

after it is all back together and has been recharged, be sure to clear the codes. The system will shut down while the codes are present to prevent major damage to the compressor.

So... I will replace the regulator and put more freon in it. Then clear the codes. And hopefully I will have a/c again??

Thanks so much!
