Clunking noise from center console - easy fix
I thought I post this really quick after I got tons of helpful info from this site and maybe it helps someone out.
I bought a used 1998 CLK 320 2 weeks ago with 88k miles.
It had a clunking sound coming from center console.
I was about to bring it in the shop to get the front suspension checked. I decided to take a quick look underneath it.
The problem was a bend heat shield touching the exhaust.
I would have never thought that this is the reason for the sound it made.
Maybe it helps someone out. :-)
Now my wife can enjoy this little beauty.
