Help!
I want to put a K and N air filter in my CLK 430 but I cant get the damn cover off the engine. is there a special way or tool to use to take it off? Also, why does the 1st gear when in tiptronic mode feel more torquey than when I leave the tranny in Standard mode?

once i yank the cover off....how would i proceed to put it back on?....are there special places where i should look for to clip the cover on again?
i just want to take the cover off to see how dirty my air filters are....

Yes little rubber gromets that the clips attatch to, Be careful after you've removed the cover to check the air inlet ( elbow shaped round black plastic screened peice that the back of the cover fits onto) is still secured in place as they can and do move a bit while removing the cover. I believe you may need a special tool to open the inside of the cover once it's removed to check the filter but I may not be recalling this correctly
