Hello. I too now have the fuel sending unit problem. Unfortunately, car is out of warranty. I'm not sure if the service manager will fix it with goodwill since it's a known problem.

Question: Is the unit simply for convenience (telling me when the gas is low) or will it cause any safety, performance, etc problems?
