Eibach Springs

Hi all, I recently had some eibach pro kit springs installed on my clk and the rear actually is higher now by almost an inch than the stock springs. I know it takes at least a week for the car to settle on the new springs but I was wondering if this ever happened to anyone else who has used the eibach pro kit.

Thanks in advance for all the comments!

have you changed out the spring pads? the pads make a 1/4" difference every increment.

I have the pro-kit and didn't have this problem. Wait a week I suppose and if it's still the same complain. Keep us updated. :0)

Even without the springs settling to normal specs, the car should not be higher. My guess is you have a CLK CAB kit on your CLK Coupe. The CAB kits are designed for another couple hundred pounds in the rear, which you would not have, thus making your rear higher.

Thanks,

Ben

Wow, good looking out Ben, I didn't even think about that. If that's the case, then yeah the kit can be removed, and they have to replace it with the right kit. You shouldn't have to pay anything since it was their mistake.

Glen,

What I'm thinking is that they installed springs that were meant for the CLK cab instead of the coupe. If this is the case, then they will need to order the correct springs and install those in place of what you have now.

Or they put the front springs in back and the rear springs up front.
Becasue the front springs are bigger, which would casue the rear of the car to sit up higher than stock.

I am pretty sure the mechanic did not install the springs incorrectly...but who knows it does not hurt to check.

Thanks

Hey Ckal how much are the spring pads and if it turns out that the springs are for the coupe and the springs are installed correctly what size pad should you suggest that I use for the rear? Right now I have 17s with a staggered set up of 225/45/17 in the front and 245/40/17 tires in the rear so I am not in danger of any rubbing but I may change out my wheels to 18s

Thanks

Glen
