Fuel breather pipe for W208

Hi all, need to order a replacement breather pipe for my CLK. Did a temporary repair on the old one but it hasn't lasted long. I'd like to order some replacement hose so I'm ready before starting the job so can anyone confirm what the diameter of the fuel hose is? (would rather just order some fuel hose rather than the part from MB) Pic attached of the part. Thanks

Buy some cheap harbor freight calipers and measure that steel pipe for the inside diameter of the hose. When you buy hose its is based on the ID or inside diameter.

Using the ol' mighty shovel and to leave the information for others who haven't or can't measure the metal pipe.
The outside diameter is around 14,5mm which would need a hose with 14mm of inner diameter.

Leaving here important information regarding the two flexible rubber hoses from the fuel reservoir. Almost no information about the exact size.

As known, there is a chronic issue regarding the two houses identified as A2024761827 and A2024768726. The hoses become brittle and perish. Whenever the fuel reservoir is filled, gasoline saps out and spills on the rear right arm and the floor. Quite a lot.
There are videos on YouTube to identify the specific place however information is lacking about their size. Thus, I want to share it with anyone who still hasn't changed them.

Difficulty level: Beginner
Tools: Needle-nose Pliers, Clamp cutter, specific rubber hoses.

A2024761827
  • This tube has two different sizes.
    • From the canister side it has an external diameter of 24.24mm and internal diameter of 17.63mm
    • From the metal pipe side it has an external diameter of 21.79mm and internal diameter of 14.15mm
    • Wall thickness: 3.5mm
A2024768726
  • This tube can be sourced from any store as long as it's a proper fuel rubber hose. Mercedes couldn't source it.
    • External diameter of 21.42mm and internal diameter of 14.32mm
    • Wall thickness: 4.15mm (generic)
After changing and clamping them down, went to the petrol station and filled it up. No longer I smell gasoline after filling up and no longer spilling!
