Some engine craziness.....

So I have been posting about engine vibration asking if anyone knows whats up..... I statred looking for thing like bad sparkplugs, broken motor mounts, air mass sensor and found that the air mass sensor was not completely sealed to the "airbox". The clips were undone and there was a gap that would let air in the side. Wondering if this could have caused any serious problems, ie- dirt getting into the engine because air was not going through the air filter??? Anyone ??

Also, are there 12 sparkplugs in a 1998 CLK320, it looks that way to me, though I could not actually remove them to see for sure...

Finally, I have an engine "clicking noise" seems like it is coming from the belt, I know others have experienced this...what was the fix??

Thanks

Rick

Bar exams are always fun. I took (and passed) NY and California.... I'm not sure which was worse.

I'm not sure about those plugs for our cars. I think most of the people that have replaced the plugs just went with standard bosch platinum because they yielded better performance than the +4's. I could be wrong tho.

To get the plugs out, just remove the boots and coild and you should be able to get to them with a spark plug socket on a swival.
MB platinum plugs look different that the standard bosch platinum plugs you can buy at you local auto parts store.
