I am new here, I just bought a 1998 clk 320 and I have a few questions....


first has 73000 original miles....paid 3800 good deal??


second, who I bought it from changed the headlights in the large headlights and the are very bright now...but the smaller head lights are dull....what are the small headlights ...the low beams? forgive me I never had a benz before.


also anything I should know about this particular model and year?


the car is in great shape original paint and interior again anything anybody can tell me to watch out for or anything I should know about this car would be very helpful

Hi

Firstly what currency are you dealing with ? if its US $ 3800 I would'nt know if the deal is good, however I can tell you if you where to pay that price in the UK for an 18 year CLK you would be daft especially as the larger engines in the UK are usually a bit less then the smaller engines due to the fuel cost.
Average price for a CLK 320 is about £1000 or $1300 US

The smaller 'inner' lights are your side lights the larger lights are headlights/main and are brighter than the inner.

The model is pre-facelift so wont have all the additional features, like skirts, mirror indicators, trim inside, steering wheel buttons, dash information etc, but still not too bad. Check for rust on front wings where the bumper meets and the same at the back, check the trunckh lock too for rust and inside grill mount frame.

The $3800 for a 1998 CLK 320 is a bit high in the US, but is dependent on mileage (73k is great) and how well the car is maintained (great shape with minimal cosmetic issues and no mechanical issues), and the desire for the car (price is not an issue). The small lights are the city lights/high beams for my car(xenon headlights), could be different on your car.

The car is pretty reliable watch the window regulators, engine and transmission mounts, idler pulley, and seat motors. Change all fluids and enjoy the car!!!
