CLK Shenanegans...........
I am driving home tonight and, with the radio loud, I hear a high pitch whistle sound, I think it is the song but after I turn of the stereo, I still hear it. The sound got more intense as I gave more gas (to the car, jokers!), and less when I gave less. It only lasted for about 30 seconds but I thought it was very strange. Any idea WTF it was/is???? BTW, for anyone who cares, my previously mentioned problem (ie- vibrations, especially at idle), was a broken motor mount (vibration damper/drivers side) as many of you have suggested....thanks JLucas and others who gave me advice..... you were all right, going in on Monday!!! Now if I could only fix that damn trunk (violently opens)......
Also, Got new Rims/Tires on the way..... Copped (bought) me a set of 16" with BRAND NEW tires (Continental, though) from a 2003 CLK320 (non-convertible), can't wait..... Will make my 1998 look like a........1998 with 2003 rims!!!! But seriously, I think it will be nice, tomorrow will be "squeek fix/clean" day here in B'More (65 Degrees like spring, bling-bling). I am going for the reserved, yet sporty look on my CLK, no crazy rims or extra body parts, basic, basic, basic..... I bet it puts even the CLK 55 (or "Fif" "Fif", name that reference and win the prize) to shame.......you'll pay, I mean.....see, you'll see how nice it is................ Think BMW 5-series with "sport/black" impact strips, it is all the rave these days, I'm gonna try to bring it over to MB, see if it catches on....... ask Viet_in_a_CLK, I think he may know whats up....
Rick
